Figure out where you can sell ASAP April 28th, 2025

Posted by Given on Apr 28th 2025

After spending a lot of time exploring different things, I’m starting to feel that marketing is a really important skill—maybe even one of the most important.

There’s so much under the word "marketing" that I didn’t realize before. For now, I think, for my business, learning how to set up ads efficiently and working on SEO should be the priorities. Maybe later, when I have more experience, I’ll understand other parts better too.

One thing I’ve noticed is that all the big internet companies—Google, Meta, Amazon—they all make a lot of money from ads. Advertising seems like a huge part of growing any business online.

For me, I’m trying to make sure that if I spend money on ads, it connects to something clear, like getting sales. So far, after testing a few different platforms, here’s what I’ve seen:

  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) so far the best for me, their ads feel expensive, but at least I can see some return, even though I’m still learning how to run them better.
  • TikTok looks fun and exciting, but honestly, I haven’t had much success there yet. Maybe I still need to learn more about TikTok if I have endless time.
  • Pinterest was where I started running ads first. I think it shares lots of customers from my Etsy store. However, I caught the right audiences and got some brand awareness, but the ads didn’t really bring in sales like I hoped.

I’m still trying to figure things out, but if you’re also at the beginning like me, maybe a few notes could help:

  1. Figure out ASAP where you can sell —find one or two marketing areas that seem to show results first, instead of trying everything at once.
  2. Keep an eye on your ad results—it’s easy to spend money fast, and not everything will work.
  3. Always keep improving your product, because even if ads bring people to your store, it’s your product that will make them stay.

I just want to be clear: this isn’t any kind of advertisement. I don’t get paid by any platform. I’m just sharing what I’m noticing along the way, hoping maybe it helps someone else too.

Thanks for reading. Still figuring it all out, one step at a time.
